decent catfish, small squawfish.

I randomly went fishing to a few places with a buddy named M-Beezy. He caught 2 fish and I caught zero so he won, but the most surprising thing about it is he did a lot of things different than I did. I have to admit I was even using two rods at one point and I still didn't catch anything, only bites. The first location we went to was Chinook Landing at the mini slough. Once we got there, we already noticed that the slough turned into a stream, yet we tried fishing in it for Carp and managed to catch nothing. So after a half an hour we went to the bank of the main channel, you know the beachish area.

Hung out with my girlfriend (yes the same one who caught that huge squawfish) before she left for work. Then M-Beezy came over and we played some call of duty and NBA2k13 til 3am with some taco bell (man date-ish). We decided to hit up Salish ponds at 4am and fished for two hours. The Carp were spawning literally EVERYWHERE! We were using the white breadball hair rig I have posted on my blog, but he was using a helicopter set up. I casted in the spot where I've been catching most of my carp in that lake, including the 25 lber, and he casted in a spot where there was a ton of weeds. I didn't tell him he should re-cast because he obviously has one fish over my 0, so he must be doing something right. He had an enormous bite in which we both knew it was a carp, but then he ran up to the rod, picked it up, and felt the power of a carp; BUT then he set the hook.....I forgot to tell him that you don't set the hook with a hair rigged circle hook. So I guess I have to take the blame for that. So we re casted and he got another bite, and THIS TIME he didn't set the hook. He managed to catch this catfish. I think he was around 13-16 inches long:

Beats getting skunked?

I don't even think this is post worthy but it's kind of funny. Definitely the biggest fish I have ever caught! I haven't been Carp fishing lately because I've kind of been busy lately; well more like lazy.

I tried to go bluegill fishing but apparently, people keep fishing them out at Salish Ponds for some reason. So we only caught 1 fish:

Carp Climax

It's been WAY TOO long since I caught a Carp. I haven't caught one since Spring I think. I was going to go bluegill fishing one day, but when I got to my fishing spot, I noticed the fishing rod was broken.

So today I went Common Carp fishing and managed to catch I think 7 of them in around 2 hours of fishing. They were around 6 lbs, and I don't know specifics since I didn't weight them. Chinook Landing is a weird place to fish at. The bite definitely correlates to the water level in a weird way in its sloughs. Once the bite turns off, I have to avoid that place for 6 days to let the water either rise or recede. After that, fish on!

Here is a video that contains one of the fish secreting its juices onto my arm in which I didn't even notice but was laughing at the dripping from the fish. The second part of the video is just me releasing one of the Carp. I know this video may be a little disturbing to some, but I thought it was halarious. I was dying of laughter when I noticed it in the video footage at Carl's JR:
